Summary
Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) is an engineering and technology firm supporting government and nuclear clients. The Senior Nuclear Safety Analyst-Engineer role involves preparing safety documents and performing complex technical analyses for DOE and commercial nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare rule-compliant DSAs and TSRs per DOE-STD-3009 and 10 CFR 830.
- Perform complex technical analyses, including radiological and chemical hazard evaluations.
- Conduct/review atmospheric dispersion modeling and dose consequence analysis.
- Collaborate with nuclear facility operations, reviewing procedures and supporting DSA/TSR implementation.
- Perform/review criticality safety, radiation protection, and shielding analyses.
- Develop/review nuclear safety documentation for DOE and commercial applications.
- Work within quality assurance procedures, including software verification and validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or related scientific field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in nuclear safety analysis for DOE or commercial environments.
- Experience in facility/process hazard analysis, safety reporting, licensing, risk assessment, radiological dose assessments, chemical hazards analysis, environmental monitoring, permitting, radionuclide transport modeling, and radiation work planning.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Successful drug screen.
- Ability to obtain DOE clearance (not required to start).
- Proficiency in DOE-approved safety software (MELCOR, MACCS, MCNP, SCALE) preferred.
