Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, production plans, and documentation to understand scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with designers, project coordinators, and stakeholders to gather information for accurate cost estimation.
- Prepare purchase orders, factoring in material quantities and equipment.
- Maintain and update cost databases regularly to ensure current and accurate information.
- Perform detailed material take-offs for project-specific and stock requirements.
- Identify and evaluate risks or uncertainties in project specifications, timelines, and execution.
- Monitor and compare actual project costs against initial estimates, identifying discrepancies and analyzing their causes.
- Ensure thorough documentation and global accessibility of all quotes, estimates, and project pricing.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as an estimator in the Australian construction industry, with a strong understanding of industry codes, standards, construction methods, and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating, ERP software, including Databuild, MYOB, and the Microsoft Office suite (intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimations.
- Time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
