Senior Software Engineer Full Time

Summary:

• SkyGrid is an Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Third-Party Service Provider (TSP).
• The company focuses on enabling the safe operation and integration of autonomous aircraft.
• SkyGrid acts as the operational nexus for Advanced Air Mobility, managing data, infrastructure, and traffic for scaled operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test safety critical software in C/C++ for a Real Time Operating System (RTOS).
• Develop high/low level software requirements from system requirements.
• Perform requirement/design/code/test artifact reviews.
• Ensure compliance with DO-178C software development practices and produce necessary verification artifacts.
• Make high-level design decisions for distributed architectures.
• Conduct extensive testing, including unit testing, requirements-based testing, and system integration testing.
• Engage in debugging and root cause analysis to ensure software reliability.
• Mentor junior developers and foster a skilled team.
• Collaborate in Agile practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Translate business requirements into software requirements and architectures.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in C/C++ for safety critical systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Comfortable working in Docker, container runtimes like ECS or Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience making architectural design decisions and mentoring others.
• Experience with network programming and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTPS, TLS, SFTP).
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Polarion, Git, and comfortable working in Linux or MacOS environments.
• Proficiency with DO-178C, DO-330, and DO-331 standards, or similar.
