Summary:
- Altarum’s Community Health Practice Area seeks a Senior Technical Assistance (TA) Specialist with expertise in behavioral health (BH) to support various projects related to substance use, mental health treatment, crisis services, opioid treatment, and peer recovery support services.
- The role involves providing TA to grantees, including virtual webinars, site visits, training workshops, and resource development, while working with federal clients, management, contractors, and consultants.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the provision of TA to grantees across the country, both virtually and on-site as needed.
- Provide input to inform decisions regarding TA requests and processes, including scope of work, resources, modality, and timeline.
- Assess, plan, and deliver training and TA related to OTP systems and behavioral health crisis systems.
- Design and deliver training and TA on OTP systems and behavioral health recovery supports for adults and youth.
- Provide consultative expertise and recommendations to clients and grantees.
- Develop TA packages, reports, publications, tools, toolkits, online courses, webinar presentations, and podcasts.
- Recruit and collaborate with expert consultants for training and TA on various topics.
- Work collaboratively with other Altarum staff and external TA providers on projects.
- Ensure tasks are executed successfully and with high quality by working directly with clients.
- Contribute to proposal efforts for federal, state, and philanthropic funding.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience providing TA on Federal contracts and/or with grassroots community organizations.
- Knowledge of behavioral health crisis systems.
- Experience implementing OTP systems is a plus.
- Experience in developing TA protocols, materials, resources, and tools.
- Experience in meeting, training, and workshop design.
- Desire to integrate research, technical, analytical, and consulting skills to improve human health.
- Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills, strong communication and facilitation skills, team focus, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Knowledge in SUD systems, recovery from behavioral health disorders, program development, and coalition building.
- Ability to travel and provide on-site TA up to 25% of the time.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Ability to work in the continental U.S. and during Eastern time.
