Senior Video Producer, Weekend Full Time

Responsibilities

• Research, produce, and edit engaging videos quickly from concept to publish
• Create several bespoke images and graphics daily to enhance stories
• Work independently with a self-starter attitude and minimal supervision
• Collaborate with news teams to produce compelling real-time video updates
• React to breaking news stories as they happen
• Leverage AI tools to enhance quality and productivity of visuals
• Optimize and post video content on social media platforms
• Provide production support including interviewing and editing
• Pitch and develop video ideas for special projects
• Manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Ensure content meets Newsweek’s editorial and brand standards
• Check facts and ensure content accuracy and fairness
• Guide and support video producers and editors when needed
• Perform other reasonable duties as necessary

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience producing digital news videos
• Strong storytelling skills and eye for visual design
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere and After Effects
• Experience using Canva and/or Photoshop
• Knowledge of current events and experience covering news
• Self-starter with proactive approach to pursuing stories
• Strong communicator, visually and verbally
• Ability to work independently and in a team under tight deadlines
• Experience in video and photo research in an editorial setting
• Basic understanding of best practices for social videos
• Ability to multitask and manage projects
• Knowledge of Zoom, camera, and audio equipment
• Eager to learn and receptive to feedback
• Adaptable and flexible with changing priorities
• Must be able to work flexible hours

Benefits

• Salary range: $65,000 – $75,000
