Site Reliability Automation and Orchestration Engineer Full Time

Summary:

• The U.S. Navy’s SMIT program seeks a Site Reliability Automation and Orchestration Engineer to support the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), the largest IT network globally.

Responsibilities:

• Automate routine tasks, document testing procedures, and maintain automated testing processes.
• Develop Ansible playbooks and facilitate their migration to production networks.
• Participate in developing release management processes, policies, and plans.
• Conduct site surveys to assess software and hardware for release packages.
• Develop and deliver work instruction materials for automation and orchestration.
• Provide training when technological updates are implemented.

Requirements:

• B.S. degree and 8-12 years of hands-on experience in site reliability engineering and automation, ideally in federal government projects.
• IAT Level II Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security).
• U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret Clearance.
• Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD toolsets (Jenkins, GitLab), and Agile environments.
• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix, scripting languages (bash, python), and CI/CD integrations.
• Knowledge of Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence) and scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, and automated provisioning tools like Terraform or Ansible.

Benefits:

• Pay range: $89,700.00 – $162,150.00 annually.
