Software Engineer – Go Full Time

Responsibilities

• Enhance Bufstream with desired features from customers
• Ensure Kafka compatibility, including unspecified behaviors
• Optimize performance to save costs and improve latency/throughput
• Support early customers with quality documentation and demos
• Record metrics and build dashboards for performance and correctness
• Understand Bufstream’s technical, functional, and business needs
• Handle user-facing issues from start to finish, including debugging
• Develop systems supporting security, integrity, and performance
• Balance between velocity and perfection while moving pragmatically

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Go projects and distributed systems
• Track record of architecting, building, and supporting production-grade systems
• Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and excellent communication
• Data engineering experience, especially with Kafka
• Drive for quality, reliability, and algorithmic innovation
• Experience in early-stage start-ups and developer-targeted products
• Experience with Java and a degree in Computer Science or related field
• Working hours that overlap Eastern Time significantly
