Responsibilities:
- As a Solution Engineer in the Life Sciences team at KNIME, you will be the technical go-to person for our customers, helping them make the most out of our software.
- Internally, you work closely with our other solution engineers around the world to come up with new ideas, solutions, and demos that help us show the customer the value in our software.
- Your job will be to articulate the KNIME value proposition in conversations with prospects and existing customers, as well as building solutions together with or for them.
- In addition to preparing solutions, part of the job is to marshal resources internally to help build proof of concepts, present the results to a technical or non-technical audience.
- At KNIME we believe in working as a team and helping whenever this is needed. So in addition to those day-to-day tasks, you might be asked to help train new customers, prepare use cases for our marketing team, or write blog posts about your most recent lessons learned.
Requirements:
- Your background in life sciences sets you apart. Whether through expertise in bioinformatics, life sciences combined with data science, computational biology, or other related fields.
- You understand the specific challenges and opportunities within industries like pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare and related domains but also feel challenged by use cases outside of life sciences.
- You are a creative technical all-rounder – a problem solver, a curious tinkerer, and architect of software solutions.
- You are also a bit of a data nerd – you love to help people and organizations get the most out of their data and understand how systems can be designed to do this utilizing the available technology including commonly used tools in the related industry like RDKit, Python, machine learning modules, generative AI (GenAI), cloud infrastructures, and data warehouses or databases overall.
- You also bring experience in working with different data types that is commonly used in the life sciences industry.
- If you have had some exposure to KNIME, workflows or other low code tools – this is a big plus.
- You also have the skills of organization and communication, being able to work with customers from a huge spectrum of departments and industries to help them realize their vision through software solutions.
- You are able to guide people remotely, manage multiple workstreams, but you are also not afraid to dig in and do the work yourself when needed.
- You are humble (enough) and have a sense of humor.
