Sr. Manager, Security Operations Engineering Full Time

Summary:

• Vimeo is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Security Operations to report to the Director of Information Security.
• The position involves managing the day-to-day operations of Engineers and Analysts dedicated to security controls and incident response.
• The Senior Manager will work with internal stakeholders, vendors, and peers to foster continuous improvement.
• This role aims to align security and engineering efforts while prioritizing communication and operational excellence.
• The Senior Manager will also focus on maturing Incident Response by establishing clear goals and robust processes.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain security controls to protect against threats, detect intrusions, and respond to security alerts.
• Enhance Zero Trust Network Access, Cloud Security Posture Management, Email Security, Endpoint Protection, and more.
• Partner with Engineering to remediate vulnerabilities using a risk-based approach.
• Automate alert collection, prioritization, and tasks, and perform periodic audits.
• Script using Perl, Python, Shell, or other scripting languages.
• Research initial threat vectors, create protection mechanisms, and recommend security improvements.
• Lead incident response, facilitate calls, provide documentation, and maintain records.
• Ensure infrastructure and event feeds are available and operating effectively.
• Drive operational excellence with a focus on efficiency, clarity, and organizational alignment.
• Set goals, track progress, and communicate performance regularly.
• Act as a key point of contact between Security, Engineering, Product, and business teams.
• Lead the Security Operations team, providing strategic direction and mentorship.
• Foster collaboration between Security, Product, Engineering, and other necessary teams.
• Scale team impact through sustainable processes.
• Manage a geographically distributed team and align stakeholders on complex initiatives.

Requirements:

• Experience with maintaining and configuring security controls, network firewalls, and endpoint protection technologies.
• Strong communication skills to explain vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
• Experience building tools to assist with incident response and security tasks.
• Expertise in post-incident analysis and writing postmortems.
• Deep understanding of security principles, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
• Familiarity with Jira or other project management tools.
• Ability to make data-driven decisions and lead cross-functional teams.
• Proven leadership skills and experience with geographically distributed teams.
• Affinity for using data to inform strategic decisions.

Benefits:

• Base salary range: $184,000 – $251,500 (NYC Metro, Bay Area, Seattle, Los Angeles).
• Base salary range: $165,600 – $226,350 (Other US cities).
