Summary:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national laws and regulations.
- Support legal and business initiatives while providing strategic legal counsel.
- Focus on physician contracts, litigation management, compliance, vendor agreements, governance, and risk management.
- Oversee compliance efforts and manage external legal relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage physician and mid-level provider contracts.
- Oversee litigation matters and manage case strategies.
- Advise leadership on regulatory, compliance, and risk management issues.
- Ensure compliance with Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, and other regulations.
- Draft and negotiate vendor, payor, and facility agreements.
- Maintain knowledge of company operations and regulatory environment.
- Conduct legal research and provide regulatory updates.
- File and manage business registrations and corporate filings.
- Provide strategic guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and expansions.
- Support governance functions, including board resolutions and records management.
- Collaborate on compliance, HIPAA privacy, and security matters.
- Manage regulatory audits, investigations, and advocacy with agencies.
- Ensure multi-state compliance for contracts.
- Provide legal and compliance training to staff.
- Advise on data privacy and cybersecurity laws.
- Manage payer and provider disputes, including alternative dispute resolution.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3+ years of healthcare legal experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare compliance laws.
- Ability to handle confidential information and business sensitivities.
- Experience managing litigation and outside counsel.
