Pathward, N.A. is a financial empowerment company focused on increasing financial inclusion. The SVP, Business Controls Officer will lead compliance initiatives, working closely with fintech partners and internal teams to support innovation while maintaining regulatory and risk management standards.
Lead the first line of defense in establishing and executing compliance strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with fintech partners and internal teams to develop and implement compliant product and customer solutions.
Ensure adherence to OCC regulatory compliance, BSA, AML regulations, and third-party risk management in day-to-day operations.
Develop policies, procedures, and controls that reflect compliance requirements while balancing business operations and risk.
Establish and maintain frameworks for managing risks with fintech partners and third-party providers, with emphasis on nested relationships.
Serve as a liaison between fintech partners, revenue teams, and second line of defense to drive communication and innovation.
Assist in implementing systems for monitoring and reporting on compliance risks, ensuring timely issue resolution and updates to management.
Lead compliance awareness and training programs for fintech partners and internal revenue teams.
Represent Pathward in the payments marketplace through partner and prospect interactions and participation in industry events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Typically, 15+ years of experience in related fields.
Minimum 10 years of experience in compliance or regulatory roles in the banking or financial services industry.
Expertise in OCC regulations, BSA/AML, and third-party risk management within a fintech and BIN sponsorship context.
Proven experience leading first-line-of-defense compliance functions with a focus on proactive risk assessment.
Demonstrated ability to develop compliant and innovative solutions with fintech partners and internal teams.
Strong C-level relationships within the fintech space with ability to engage with senior executives.
Understanding of issuing, acquiring, money movement, and credit sponsorship products.
Preferred technical experience with Salesforce and other business productivity tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a history of cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to effectively present to varied audiences.
