Technical Support Engineer – Center of Competency (COC) Full Time

Summary:

  • The Red Hat Center of Excellence (COC) team is seeking a Technical Support Engineer with experience in Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies.
  • The role is remote in Italy, providing high-level technical support and sustaining engineering services for IBM Cloud Pak OpenShift.
  • The engineer will collaborate with customers, developers, architects, and operations teams to solve complex issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support for IBM customer inquiries about Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
  • Use IBM and Red Hat ticketing systems to assist customers.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify problems, and communicate corrective actions to customers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical account managers, internal teams, and external parties.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experience and document solutions for future incidents.
  • Perform weekend and holiday shift duties on a rotational schedule when required.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working as a support or development engineer for a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) provider.
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux or Unix operating systems, including system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) qualification is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, containers, IT automation, and cloud management.
  • Experience with hosted applications or large-scale application deployments.
  • Strong understanding of Linux tools, such as cURL, Git, Strace, and Wireshark.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and investigation skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
