- The company is seeking a passionate and dynamic Tour Leader (CEO) for the South Asia region to create unforgettable experiences for travelers and lead groups across vibrant destinations.
Responsibilities:
- Consistently deliver a high level of customer service and traveler satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and be responsible for the well-being of travelers.
- Continuously increase knowledge about the visited country, its culture, religion, current affairs, and environment.
- Have detailed knowledge of hotels, sights, restaurants, transport, souvenirs, and prices.
- Develop a series of information sources and contacts for assistance.
- Maintain a valid passport and visa, staying up-to-date on travel restrictions.
- Keep vaccinations and preventive medication up to date.
- Identify opportunities for G Adventures, such as new destinations, new CEOs, new markets, or ways to improve itineraries.
- Act as day-to-day guide, interpreter, and manager of the group during departures.
- Handle traveler issues and concerns to ensure passenger satisfaction.
- Maintain the established travel itinerary and make changes only when necessary.
- Make reservations for accommodation, transportation, and activities as required.
- Assist and accompany travelers during optional activities and meals.
- Provide guidance on suitable restaurants, transport needs, and souvenirs.
- Maintain daily expenditure accounts, retain receipts, and stay within trip budgets.
- Provide a report for each trip and keep trip notes updated in standardized format.
- Train new leaders as requested and share trip-related information.
- Provide assistance to regional offices as requested by Managers or the Toronto office.
Requirements:
- A love for adventure travel with a genuine passion for traveling to vibrant and exciting areas.
- Previous experience living, traveling, studying, or working abroad is essential.
- Ability to legally work in South Asia.
- Proficiency in English and region-specific language skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively in various contexts.
- Resourcefulness and ability to remain calm and collected under unpredictable and stressful circumstances.
- Commitment to sustainable tourism practices and environmentally responsible tourism.
- Good health and high energy levels to handle physical and mental stress.
- First Aid/CPR Certification required at the start of the contract.
- Ability to travel across South Asia.
- Background in basic accounting or budgeting is an asset.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet.
