Behavioral Health Pre-Authorization Coordinator (remote in Oregon) Full Time NEW

Responsibilities:

• Completes data entry for all incoming UM requests.
• Reviews and follows up on all authorizations with providers if there is any missing information before entering into HMS Essette database.
• Reviews authorization requests for minimum required documentation, based on UM standards.
• Communicates barriers and requests for modification to UM Coordinators in charge of authorization.
• Documents concerns/issues associated with authorizations.
• Receives and helps with member phone calls.
• Checks the UM email folder throughout the day.
• Checks Provider credentials.
• Notifies of acute admission and open in Essette.
• Takes Emergency Department report notes.
• Works with UM/CM teams to maintain workflow productivity.
• Answers provider and member calls, transferring when appropriate.
• Provides back-up to Clinical Services Coordinator as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Three years of experience working in a medical office setting.
• Behavioral Health knowledge preferred.
• Experience working with CPT codes and billing procedures preferred.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels.
• Technology savvy – proficient in Microsoft Office software and/or Google Suites software.
• Education – High School diploma or equivalent.
