Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer at Canonical Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Drive automation and Gitops development in team.
• Collaborate with IS architect on solutions alignment.
• Design services as products for internal use.
• Develop IaC practices to improve automation.
• Automate software operations across cloud environments.
• Maintain operational responsibility for core services.
• Troubleshoot and investigate performance issues.
• Use observability tools for monitoring and alerting.
• Work with distributed engineering and support teams.
• Share best practices with team via mentoring and sessions.
• Handle time-critical escalations.

Requirements:

• Experience with infrastructure as code in clouds.
• Python software development for large projects.
• Experience with Kubernetes or container systems.
• Practical knowledge of Linux networking and routing.
• Experience with Linux storage systems like Ceph.
• Administer enterprise Linux servers effectively.
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• Clear communication skills in English.
• Willingness to troubleshoot and learn quickly.
• Adaptability in fast-changing environments.
• Passion for open-source, especially Ubuntu or Debian.
