Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the underwriting team.
- Ensure productivity, quality, and compliance.
- Provide guidance on loan structuring and guidelines.
- Oversee analysis of borrower credit files and collateral.
- Review complex underwriting scenarios and render decisions.
- Ensure timely and accurate underwriting of loans.
- Supervise clearance of loan conditions.
- Monitor and report on underwriting performance.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks like fraud.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience underwriting Non-QM loans.
- Proven experience in a leadership role.
- Expertise in manual underwriting and DTI calculations.
- Strong knowledge of Meridian Link or similar systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and risk assessment ability.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to balance risk and profitability.
- Highly organized and able to work under pressure.
