Account Manager – Life Science & Molecular Diagnostics (Johannesburg, Free State, North West Provinces) Full Time

Summary:

QIAGEN, a global leader in molecular diagnostics and life sciences, seeks an Account Manager in Johannesburg to drive sales in life science and molecular diagnostics. The role focuses on customer engagement and sales growth in Gauteng, Free State, and North West Provinces, supporting the company’s mission to improve lives.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with customers to understand new product needs, analyze opportunities, and develop tailored proposals that meet client requirements.
• Develop and refine product strategies for different customer segments, ensuring alignment with customer needs and adjusting as required.
• Prepare and present proposals, secure deals, and continuously monitor customer satisfaction.
• Drive growth through effective sales opportunity management, as reflected in the CRM system (Salesforce CRM – SFDC).
• Create, identify, and track sales pipeline through SFDC to support target achievement.
• Identify potential risks and implement proactive corrective actions to maintain a stable and effective sales environment.
• Attend QIAGEN and industry events, engaging with executive decision-makers to strengthen customer relationships.
• Maintain customer account records and keep them updated.
• Analyze sales data at the portfolio level, identify trends and variances, and provide monthly reports with explanations for any deviations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Medical Science or a related Science field, preferably with a focus on Molecular studies.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales or commercial role, ideally within the life sciences industry.
• Professional level of the English language, written and spoken.
• Strong presentation and solution-selling skills.
• Effective communication with various stakeholders.
• Adaptability to different situations and customer needs.
• Strategic mindset with experience in strategic selling.
• Skilled in negotiations and managing complex sales scenarios.
• Ability to interpret and analyze data for informed decision-making.
