Summary:
Sporty Group is looking for a Database Administrator – MySQL Specialist to take ownership of their database infrastructure, optimize performance, and facilitate expansion into new regions. The role involves working with modern technologies, automating deployments, and ensuring database efficiency. This is a fully remote position with opportunities for growth and innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership and responsibility for existing and new database infrastructure.
- Monitor slow queries and proactively adjust database system capacity.
- Automate deployments, configuration management, and infrastructure setup using Terraform.
- Enhance existing dashboards and develop new monitoring and alert mechanisms.
- Support database operations as the company expands into new regions.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience managing advanced MySQL and MongoDB issues.
- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and Redshift.
- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation and operational runbooks.
- Open-minded and willing to tackle new challenges in a fast-growing organization.
- Fluent in English, as it is the working language at Sporty Group.
