Summary:
WordPress VIP, a division of Automattic, is seeking a Director of Public Sector Sales to lead and scale its government sales team. The role focuses on expanding WPVIP’s presence in federal, state, and local government markets, leveraging the recent FedRAMP certification. The candidate will drive strategic growth, develop partnerships, and manage a high-performing sales team, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for public sector markets.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and technical teams to create tailored solutions.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, including recruiting and training.
- Support team members by participating in client and prospect meetings.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies.
- Report sales activities and forecasts to senior management.
- Engage with C-level executives in public sector organizations.
- Expand WPVIP’s Public Sector customer base internationally.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams.
- Experience working with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
- Ability to sell complex technical products using a consultative approach.
- Track record of achieving growth targets and closing deals.
- Strong presentation and executive engagement skills.
- Familiarity with CMS and web technologies is preferred.
- Must be based in the United States.
